![]() Augsburg Fortress offers biannual Music Clinics for continuing education of church musicians and enrichment of music in worship. Held in a variety of locations, each clinic features a variety of reading sessions including choral, piano/organ, and handbells (summer only). Our well-known clinicians offer their own character and wisdom during the presentation of music from a variety of publishers. During the summer, a variety of breakout sessions are offered. These clinics are always free of charge, with choral packets available for only $1 per packet that include copies of music for attendees to keep. Session DescriptionsHandbells in the Church – This interactive workshop presents new handbell music from Choristers Guild. A dynamic reading packet will feature a variety of new music for ringers of all ages. The session will also introduce Bill Mathis' new resource, "After the Prelude, Year B – Handbell Resources to Enhance Worship." This reproducible product provides valuable resources for utilizing handbells and handchimes throughout the worship service. Explore musical and liturgical elements you can use to bring the special sound of bells and chimes into a more meaningful leadership role in worship. Sundays and Seasons.com can save any church musician hours of planning time every week. This interactive workshop will show you how you can work faster and smarter, while planning worship that faithfully supports the message of the day. Learn new tricks and tips, even if you are using the site already. PLUS, take a look at some of the all-new worship content, including the new contemporary and multi-media worship content available on Sundays and Seasons.com, and hear about upcoming major improvements to this invaluable site! Working with Children's Choirs – Offering a variety of new resources as well as ideas on how to work with children and build a program. Seasonings – Using the hymnal, a variety of practical treatments will be used to illustrate how one can use resources at hand to enhance texts and styles of congregational song. Organ Improvisation Made Easy – Using hymns in the hymnal for material, participants will be provided practical ideas for improvisation in the liturgical context. Building a Choral Program – From recruiting to rehearsal planning to projects, this workshop would provide ideas based on 8 years of collaboration in the same music program. Time for Q&A will be provided. Choral Sessions I & II – Both sessions will have a variety of voicing and skill levels.
